This extra-large 3" safety pin is the perfect shawl pin. All handcrafted from heavy gauge wire (you will feel the weight!), with the end of the pin sharpened by hand if desired. It looks gorgeous on a chunky scarf or sweater.
NOTE: metal (2mm) is thicker than commercial safety pins and can potentially leave pin holes on fabric. Do not on delicate fabrics.

[PIN END]
We offer three options for the pin end --
Extra sharp - As sharp as can be.(image6) Use with care! Can be used as a kilt pin.
Not too sharp - Pointy end. Can be used on both knits and fabrics, but may not penetrate densely woven fabrics easily.
Rounded/Smooth - This would be a very "safe" safety pin. (image 3) It does not penetrate fabrics but works great on knits as it is less likely to snag the yarn.

The pin end is carefully finished and hidden from the outer edge of the brooch so it should be safe to use during normal occasions. I have sold many of these pins with great customer satisfaction.
